Smooth Geomembrane

Basically, many anti-seepage works will use smooth geomembrane. Such as aquaculture, sewage treatment, reservoirs, reservoirs, artificial lakes, seepage prevention, biogas digesters, landfills and other projects. And like textured geomembrane, because the surface is rough, so as to increase friction, so rough surface geomembrane is generally suitable for seepage prevention work on slopes, especially for larger slopes, like garbage. Landfills, tailings dams, etc.

Smooth Geomembrane Description:

Classified by material:
(1) HDPE Smooth Geomembrane, high density polyethylene geomembrane, stable chemical properties, anti-low temperature and anti-aging, with a service life of 30-50 years, mainly used in urban domestic waste landfills, solid waste waste, slag plants, sewage Treatment plants, artificial lakes and many other fields.
(2) LDPE. LLDPE Smooth Geomembrane increases the ductility, which is beneficial to the improvement of the waterproof and anti-seepage performance of the geomembrane. It is mainly used in artificial lakes and aquaculture.
(3) PVC Smooth Geomembrane, mostly used in some urban buildings.
(4) EVA Smooth Geomembrane, water resistance, corrosion resistance, good ductility, sound insulation and heat insulation.

According to the production process:
There are also two production methods, namely blown geomembrane and extrusion geomembrane, and the corresponding processes are blow molding process and flat extrusion process. The geomembranes produced by the two production processes have certain differences and have their own advantages. The advantages and disadvantages of the two production processes are analyzed below.

Extrusion geomembrane

Extrusion geomembrane

Extrusion geomembrane, also known as cast film, is a non-stretched, non-directional flat extrusion film produced by melt casting and quenching. There are two methods: single-layer casting and multi-layer co-extrusion casting. Its production process is as follows: the first is the ingredients, the raw materials such as high-density polyethylene particles, color masterbatch, carbon black and other raw materials are mixed in a certain proportion, mixed evenly, and then put into the silo, and then the raw materials are heated by the extruder. It is melted into fluid, extruded on the membrane lip after being extruded by a screw, and then pulled through a steel rod or rubber roller to form and cool, in which the gap size of the pressure roller is the thickness of the geomembrane, and finally it is pulled and trimmed into a roll. The advantages of laminating film are high production efficiency, free adjustment between different thicknesses, low cost, high gloss of finished geomembrane, good flexibility, and the minimum thickness can be 0.2mm, but the disadvantage is that the thickness is not uniform enough.

Blown geomembrane

The production process of blown geomembrane is a three-layer co-extrusion blow molding production method. The production process is to feed the raw materials into the blow molding machine die through three heating screws, and heat and melt them into melts. These melts are melted under pressure. The extruder head is extruded and formed into a cylindrical shape at the position of the head, which is blown upward by the compressed air through the die head to form a film bubble of a certain diameter, stretched upward by the traction roller and cooled to form a geomembrane, and extends downward after being curled. After pulling and dividing, the geomembrane is unfolded and finally rolled into a roll by the unfolding film frame. The advantages of the blow molding process are that the thickness of the geomembrane is uniform, the tensile strength is high, and the quality of the film is stable.

In the case of using the same raw materials, the geomembranes produced by the two processes have their own advantages and disadvantages. Because of its low cost and good product flexibility, the coating film is currently used more in tunnel engineering and civil engineering, while the blow molding process is more suitable for landfills, reservoirs, and oil tank areas because of its uniform thickness and high quality stability. Infiltration and other projects with higher quality requirements. But no matter what kind of process, as long as it is produced according to the standard, the quality is up to the standard, we can choose the suitable one according to the engineering needs.
